diy festive garland

The year has completely flown by and now we find ourselves under a week away from my favourite day that comes around each 365 days - Christmas Day! If your room or any part in your house is looking a bit dull and could use a bit of festive fun sprinkled on it, then I have the perfect DIY for you. Here's how to make your very own Christmas Bunting.

You'll Need:

Scissors, Pencil, Ruler, Eraser
Paint, Sponge Brush
Ribbon, Lace, Letter Stickers
Patterned Paper, Stencils

[ Making the bunting shapes by tracing one I had already cut ]

[ Creating the present bunting. Wrap a piece of ribbon length-wase down the bunting. Wrap another piece across it and twist the end in the middle. Secure with a staple. ]

[Adding the word 'noel' to my bunting ]

[ Using some lace and paint to create an interesting pattern ]

[ Staple all the bunting flags onto a piece of ribbon ]

[ All done ]

Basically, I just cut out all my 12 bunting flags and decorated them however I liked. For some I used paint and other I cut out shapes from stencils and patterned paper or even wrapped one up like a present with stripped ribbon. These are just some ideas I had but browsing Pinterest to find other designs you might like to use. I hung my finished line of bunting above my desk using some blue tack.

I'll have a post going up on Christmas Eve, so I will see you then.

Merry Christmas!!

wind swept walks

I have had these photos ready to go for simply ages and took them a few months ago back in September. It was a little chilly when we set out for a beach walk on my dad's birthday but it was so calming and relaxing just to walk around the shore, struggling a bit due to the sand, and watching the waves crash in. And we polished our adventure off with a mini lemon meringue pie (my absolute favourite dessert in the whole world) and hot chocolates.

So, how have you been? The holidays are flying by and Christmas will be here is just a few more sleeps - just under a week to be more precise. I wish all the mince pies and festive decorations could last till August and soon it will be socially unacceptable to listen to holly jolly Chrissy tunes. And too hot to venture outside thanks to our marvellous Australian weather (just kidding, summer is my worst enemy). But without being too sad that the Christmas period is almost over, I'm off to finish wrapping up presents for my family to go under the tree and listen to as much of my festive playlist as a can before the New Year.

Have a wonderful weekend!

christmas gift ideas / twenty fifteen

It seems every blogger is creating a gift guide this year so I thought I would bring my own collection of ideas to the table since being inspired by so many people sharing their own. I'm covering all different hobbies, personalities and types of people so there is something for everyone in here - from best friends to grandmas.

Hopefully this year's Christmas gift guide has given you a few ideas for last minute presents. I'm signing off here since this post is a little self explanatory but it was fun to browse around online shops and put this little collage of gift ideas together.

the christmas playlist

For tonight's post, I wanted to share my Christmas playlist that I made on Spotify and have been addicted to listening. All these festive tunes are the only songs that I have been listening too (and dancing a bit too) all November and December. Christmas music is the best way to get into the holiday spirit so have a little listen to my personal selection of holly jolly music.

deviation point

So recently, I defiantly have been the worst blogger. No, not even recently....for over a month, this little corner has been neglected, completely neglected. I was just busier than I expected, constantly tired and I just felt very uninspired and unmotivated to create content that I was actually proud of. But I'm finally back and more excited than ever to create fresh new posts and hopefully some new bits and pieces that I will introduce in the new year.

Onto the outfit now, this is just a simple and basic ensemble. One of my new year's resolutions (which I am hoping to do a full post on them) is to create a minimal wardrobe with all the style staples and classics pieces I need to put together many outfits and I think this outfit is perfect for that. I paired a soft striped tee with some grey jeans which is the perfect casual outfit. But to jazz everything up, I tied my favourite light wash denim shirt around my waist to add another element of texture and balance out the look and my spotty sneakers by Rubi to give a fun little touch.

There will be so many new things happening soon - I pinky promise! Leave any requests in the comments or on my Instagram as well. By the way, let me know what you think of my header since I am thinking of changing it up for 2016, but haven't quite decided yet.

Have an amazing weekend. Talk soon.
Much love, Chelsea x
